Nine Houses - One Family - SMS

When a student attends Sikeston Middle School, they join our family!  And in our family we have nine houses! Each student participates in a sorting ceremony where they are assigned to a house.  Once in a house, they are always a part of that house, even as they change grades!  Each month our houses assemble together to participate in character education and team building meetings.  Students can earn points for a variety of reasons which can help their house earn top recognition for the month!

Students who demonstrate outstanding leadership can apply to become a House Champion!  Applications for House Champions can be made after 2nd quarter begins for sixth graders and after 2nd semester begins for fifth graders.  Once the application window is open for each grade, students can apply at any time throughout the year.  House Champions are vital to our school and have the opportunities to lead the pledge, participate as helpers in welcome nights and get to attend the “Breakfast of Champions!”
