I graduated from Sikeston High School in 2001. I went on to attend Southeast Missouri State University, where graduated in 2006.
This is my 13th year teaching for Sikeston Public Schools. I previously taught at Matthews Elementary in Sikeston, where I taught grades 4, 1, and 2. This is my first year teaching 5th grade at the 5th and 6th Grade Center. I am teamed up with Mr. Butler, and I teach ELA (English Language Arts) and Social Studies to our 2 classes.
I married my husband, Joey, in June of 2011. We have 2 children...our daughter is a 7th grader at the 7th and 8th Grade Center and our son is in 4th grade at Lee Hunter. We spend most of our weekends at softball tournaments (our daughter plays travel softball) and rodeos (our son rides calves, steers, and mini bulls). We have 2 cats, Klaus and Jax.
When I’m not teaching, I spend most of my time watching my kids participate in various sports. So I’m either at the soccer field, softball field, or at a rodeo watching my kiddos do what they love! I also have a love of hand-lettering and calligraphy, so I practice that and make several projects for people in my spare time. Additionally, my family all loves to hunt and fish, so when we can, we like to get outdoors and enjoy that.
